I seriously considered not posting today because I feared it would be a bitter, snarky mess. And after re-reading my Friday post? Um, yeah. Sorry about that.
I’m still a little under-the-weather with this cold, but at least I’m off DayQuil. However, after a rough start this morning, I got a call from my insurance company as I was walking into work. It appears that the little fender-bender I got into on Saturday was reported by the other driver. I’m not going to deny that it was my car that did the colliding, but I’m a little upset that he called my insurance. After slipping on some ice from the newest round of snow, I bounced off the curb and into his car, but the only noticeable damage was a little red paint transfer on his bumper. Dude, I’ll buy you some turtlewax and let’s call it a day. But there’s nothing I can do about it now. Except wait and see how much my insurance rates increase. Yippee.
But this is me letting it go. I’m jumping on the bandwagon and adopting this mantra.
On to meal planning.
Friday I posted the glory that is my February meal plan. I labored over it for days, seeking the perfect balance between new recipes and old favorites, various main ingredients, and different ethnicities. And if you can squint really hard, you might actually be able to read the picture I took of it with my phone. But don’t worry if you are blind like me. I will continue to do the weekly meal planning Monday with links to the recipes for you. Because that’s the kind of gal that I am. And I appreciate you.
Monday: Grilled Steak, Sauteed Brussel Sprouts with Cranberries, Baked Potatoes
Wednesday: Chicken with Dijon Sauce, Salad
Thursday: Pulled Pork, Coleslaw (my own “recipe”)
Friday: Meatloaf, Mashed Potatoes
Saturday: DATE NIGHT! I know, what’s that? But we have a sitter lined up and barring any additional hatred from the snow gods, we will be going out to dinner and maybe even a movie. The Saturday before Valentine’s Day. The busiest date night of the year. Awesome.
