In past years, our 4th of July festivities involved heading out to the country and blowing a bunch of stuff up celebrating with friends.  There was always an abundance of fun, food, and fireworks.  And good stories to tell years later.  Because when you mix men, beer, and explosives, it’s never safe dull.

However, in recent years, many of us have scattered across the country and it’s not easy to get everyone in the same place at the same time.  Even for an important holiday like Independence Day.

So this year we hosted a small BBQ for the remaining STL gang as well as our Florida crew that came up to visit.  Of course we all miss the big 4th of July bash, but sometimes it’s fun to make new traditions, too.

  3. Oh, how I miss the Texas days of blowing stuff up while inebriated. We’re safer here in KC, but also pretty darn bored.
