(Plus some really crappy pictures)
I’ve been meaning to latch hook this rug for Allison’s room. No, I’m not 100 years old. I understand latch hooking is a fairly antiquated art. But I had this great idea for a modern pattern in colors that matched her room perfectly – 16 months ago. It was going to bring latch hooking back. But this is how far I’ve gotten. I’m a little pissed that I even started because last weekend we found a good rug at Menards and now I can’t return all the latch hooking crap. Sigh.
Then there was this other yarn project that I snagged at Goodwill before Allison was born. I spent the 2 weeks I was in the hospital after my bowel resection trying to teach myself how to knit. Challenging in and of itself. Doped up on morphine? I had the attention span of a squirrel. But I keep it around because *maybe* *someday* I will try again. Plus knowing my track record for craft projects, my cousin actually told me if I finished it, she would eat it. I’d do it just to see that.
Speaking of things I’ve been meaning to do for my child… Here you will see all the supplies to create a scrapbook of her first year. Let me remind you that she turned 2 in March. I even printed out all the pictures.* All I have to do is arrange them in a pleasing way. Which apparently scares me. But maybe if I wait long enough, she can do it for me.
That’s what my parents did. I’ve been meaning to go through all these old pictures of my parent’s and organize them so that someday my kids could look at them and know who all these old Italians are. I even bought my mom a scrapbook for Mother’s Day with the intention of creating a beautiful book for her to reminisce over. Perhaps I’ll get around to it before it’s time to put her in The Home. Then all the nurses will think I’m such an amazing daughter. *Score*
*Please disregard the nakey picture of my daughter on top. I was exhausted and delusional and paid absolutely no attention to the staging of these photographs. That would also be why my carpet looks really strange. I totally do not have tie-dyed carpet.
What have you been meaning to do?
