Meal Plan Monday ~ 11.14.11

Apparently, I have developed ADD.  I fully intended to get my meal plan posted this morning, but got distracted.  Damn iPhone.  First it was Facebook.  Then Words with Friends.  Then Email.  And Words with Friends.  Then Email.  Then Pinterest.  Then working on my gift buying list.  Then next thing I know it’s 3 frickin’ 30.

But do you guys realize that Thanksgiving is NEXT THURSDAY??!!!

So, yeah, the last thing was time well spent.  Because what do you buy for an 8 year old boy??

But I now have a *bit* of a game plan for some of my hard to shop for relatives.  So I only need to obtain 15 lbs of hot glue, 50 yds of felt, and 174,000 hours of *free* time and I’ll be home free.  Gah.

Where was I?  Oh yeah, meal planning.

To make life complicated simple, I’ve got dinner plans three out of five nights this week.  Which means I only need to plan one meal because Matt’s working one of the other nights.  So that one meal needs to be ROCK STAR AWESOME.  No pressure.

I’m thinking beef stew.  Even though it was 70° today.  But I’m pretty sure it’s supposed to be 28° Wednesday night, so it should all work out.  Living in St. Louis is never meterologically boring.

Inquiring minds what to know….  Have you started your Christmas shopping list?  And if you have any 8 year old boys on said list, can I look at your paper?  Don’t worry, I’m totally sly, so no one will know.

I have a 7 year old. He changes his mind every 2.4 minutes. But if you ever need a gift for a 5 year old boy I’ve got you covered. The only thing mine wants is a cloak of invisibility. No sweat.

I’ve got one of those on my list too but the younger brother is much easier to impress. I love the invincibility cloak!

My 8-year-old boy’s life revolves around Legos, but I refuse to buy him any more sets so that’s not what he’s getting this year. He’s also into Star Wars and he’s getting a couple of the action figures…. I got him the board game “Clue”…. A “Calvin & Hobbes” book….

He’s getting this robot stencil kit: http://www.uncommongoods.com/product/robot-stencil-kit

…. and this maze ball: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002NPBT50/ref=oh_o00_s00_i00_details

I have no idea what he’ll be asking Santa for this year but I’m trying to steer him in the direction of a kid-size soccer goal.

Last year his favorite gifts (other than Legos) were the board game “Payday” and a cheap pair of metal handcuffs that I found at Walgreens for like 5 bucks. I’m not kidding, those handcuffs are still getting used every single day.

Hope you find something helpful there. :)

That is helpful! I got him a spy kit last year (with handcuffs) that went over really well. These kids have everything so they are so hard to buy for!
