Some Words

Last night I headed to bed at a reasonable time, read a couple of chapters, and fell asleep around my usual 11-1130.  Without the tv on.  An amazing feat, lemme tell you.  Then woke up at 130, wanting a snack.  As I was getting back into bed, I noticed that my dad responded to my earlier text about our secret plans for tonight.  I naively replied.  Next thing I know my dad is FREAKING out because he HAS to know what I’m taking him to.  Like it could possibly be an outdoor rave or something.  I finally turned off my phone at 2am.

You know how last week I was all pumped because I didn’t have any food waste?  Yeah, apparently I was blind or in denial.  Because we’ve been throwing food out nearly every day this week.

I did remember to shoot a phone picture of the carrots from Thanksgiving.  After I threw them in the trash can.  (Didn’t think I could compost them after drowning them in butter, but if I am incorrect, please let me know.)

After my Meal Plan Monday link up failed last year, I’ve been really hesitant to do another one, but I bit the bullet and posted the Christmas Cookie Recipe Swap yesterday.  So, please, please, PLEASE, link up your cookie recipe post!  It’s a win-win for everyone.  You get blog traffic and your visitors get a fantastic recipe!

And the winner of the Rothschild Kids coat giveaway is comment #49, Barb!  You have been contacted via email.  Thanks to everyone for the follows, shares, and tweets!  Muah!  You are all winners to me.

I can’t post a photo yet since a few IRL friends read this here ol’ blog, but I think I may have created the Best. Christmas. Card. Ever.  It’s of a more serious nature than my original plan, but my heart melts every time I look at it, so I’m gonna take that as a good sign.

I’m gonna be BFFs with the Fed Ex guy by the end of the month.  I’ve done a large portion of my holiday shopping online this year and have gotten packages delivered practically every day for the last two weeks.  Squeeee!  I love good mail!  I now just have to deal with the little odds and ends, like crafting, stocking stuffers, and items I have to evaluate in person.  Blech.  Not looking forward to this part.

I brought myself some chicken stock to drink at work today.  Because I’m reading that the key to good health is bone broth.  Although I’m not sure if it can compensate for the damage my hot cocoa and the inevitable Dr Pepper will cause.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!!
